Sermon Note

Pastor Lawrence

With Jesus i have everything to overcome anything. There is a hope thet came from Him. With Jesus we can overcome anything

The Upper Room when 120 disciples received holy spirit, they were in Mount Zion

Mount Zion is also known as City of David

2 Samuel 5:7

Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David).

1 Chronicles 15:1

The Ark Brought to Jerusalem

David built houses for himself in the City of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched a tent for it.

The exact measurement of the temple were given by God

The Tabernacle of David

In Acts 15 this is where the early church fathers came together to decide whether Gentiles should be under 10 commandments

Acts 15:6-11

The Jerusalem Council

Now the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter. And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”

How are our hearts purified today?

Human hearts can only be purified by Christ.

Turn to Christ. Only Jesus can be your holiness.

Let Him purify you

630 commandments in the Old Testament

That is the law of Moses

You test God when you put believers under the law of Moses

It is the yoke that neither our fathers or us are able to bear

Everyone failed

We believe through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ we are saved the same manner.

We are saved by His grace

By grace we are kept. Grace will bring us home

Grace is not just the doctrine. It is the Person of Jesus Christ

Everything has changed because of the cross.

Jesus Christ and His finished works have changed everything.

Acts 15:13-17

And after they had become silent, James answered, saying, “Men and brethren, listen to me: Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name. And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:

‘After this I will return

And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down;

I will rebuild its ruins,

And I will set it up;

So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD,

Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name,

Says the LORD who does all these things.’

James is quoting from prophet Amos

God’s heart is for the Tabernacle of David to be rebuilt

The church age is the fulfilment of the Tabernacle of David

In this prophesy; there is a specific timeframe relevant to us

Amos 9:11-15

“On that day I will raise up

The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down,

And repair its damages;

I will raise up its ruins,

And rebuild it as in the days of old;

That they may possess the remnant of Edom,

And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,”

Says the LORD who does this thing.

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD,

“When the plowman shall overtake the reaper,

And the treader of grapes him who sows seed;

The mountains shall drip with sweet wine,

And all the hills shall flow with it.

I will bring back the captives of My people Israel;

They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them;

They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them;

They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them.

I will plant them in their land,

And no longer shall they be pulled up

From the land I have given them,”

Says the LORD your God.

When you sow a seed you take time to harvest

But the plowman cannot overtake the reaper, unless there are so much to harvest

There will be super acceleration that the moment you sow, you will reap! It is the Lord ! Behold the days are coming!

The days are coming, those days ore revival will happen!

May 14, 1948 the jews came back to their nation in their land! This refer to our time

In Israel, they have planted the vineyard

The church will experience mighty revival

The gifts of the Holy Spirit has been restored.

The key to the revival is that God wants to restore Tabernacle of David

There is only one furniture. The most holy furniture; the Ark of Covenant.

Only one person can enter into the holy of holies

No one can come to the Ark. If you come to the Ark you will be strike dead. That is the Tabernacle of Moses

Jesus died at the cross, He has taken it out of the way.

His body was torn at the cross so that we can enter into God’s presence and so that God can come and embrace us. He wants to be with us.

So that that veil can be torn

David is an anointed Psalmist

The 10 commandments kept in the ark speaks of men’s rejection of God’s law

Manna is special providence of God

Aaron’s rod represent men’s rejection of leadership

The mercy seat is God’s mercy towards men.

Is the mercy seat that gives us hope

Propitiation: hilastérion

(Strong’s Definition)

an expiatory (place or thing), i.e. (concretely) an atoning victim, or (specially) the lid of the Ark (in the Temple):-mercyseat, propitiation.

Romans 3:23-26

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

God is no longer angry with you because of the mercy seat

Mercy covers every wrong things you have done.

God no longer treats you like how you think He treats you

God is not counting the world sin against them

How can He punish you again?

We must know Jesus and be passionate about Him

He is the mercy seat

Jesus Christ came

With His own blood, He sanctified

We are perfected forever

This is what Jesus has done for you

Rise up and realise!

Isaiah 16:5

In mercy the throne will be established;

And One will sit on it in truth, in the tabernacle of David,

Judging and seeking justice and hastening righteousness.”

It is the Tabernacle of David

The throne of God is the throne of grace

Mercy – hesed

It is the throne of grace that we may receive mercy! Mercy is for those who have failed.

Grace is for those who are not worthy. Come!

Come boldly!

Are you coming ? Why are you not coming or you choose not to come?

Hebrews 4:15-16

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Praise and worship

Why do we praise?

Why do we worship?

The heart of worship is Jesus

Jesus is who we worship

But why do we worship Him?

The word for worship is the word shachah

Hebrew word for worship shachah (Strong’s Definition) to depress, i.e. prostrate (especially reflexive, in homage to royalty or God):-bow (self) down, crouch, fall down (flat), humbly beseech, do (make) obeisance, do reverence, make to stoop, worship.

Abraham did not sacrifice his son then, because God one day will sacrifice His Son, the one and only Son

You want to worship Him

The Greek word for worship is proskyneó

Greek word for worship proskyneó (Strong’s Definition)

(meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master’s hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore):— worship.

Matthew 2:2

saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship ( proskyneó ) Him.”

You only kiss people who are special to you.

Worship in the Greek is the beautiful demonstration of love

The Lord has a love for you liken a bridegroom

It is a beautiful love

Song of Songs 1:2

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth—

For your love is better than wine.

Wine speaks of the pleasure

We want His touch

We want to experience His presence

We want to have intimacy with Him

Worship is to be intimate with the Lord

He torn the veil not for us to go in. He torn the veil because He wants to come out to be with you

Jesus saved us not out of pity.

It is a love He has for us

This love will change our lives

He loves us more than we ever know.

What is most beautiful is this, in the Song of Solomon

Song of Songs 4:9-10

You have ravished my heart,

My sister, my spouse;

You have ravished my heart

With one look of your eyes,

With one link of your necklace.

How fair is your love,

My sister, my spouse!

How much better than wine is your love,

And the scent of your perfumes

Than all spices!

It is not that the Lord has lavished our hearts. We have lavished His heart.

Everytime we turn to look to the Lord, His heart skips a beat. We mean so much to Him.

The Lord is telling us we are worth it all

This is the love that will change us

Song of Songs 4:7

You are all fair, my love,

And there is no spot in you.

You are not trash. You are treasure to the Lord

You are pearl of great prize! You are worth it all!

You are loved. So loved by Him.

God has highly exalted Him. At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow.

Only He is worthy

We only want Jesus to be glorified. He is worthy of your worship. We only want Jesus, only Jesus!

He shed His blood for me.

He died for all that those who lived will no longer live for themselves but to Him

We are here to worship Him
