Worship night (East Campus) By Pastor Matthew
Fear shuts the door.
Worship opens the door.
Psalms 141:2-3
Let my prayer be set before You as incense,
The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
Keep watch over the door of my lips.
Psalms 118:19-20
Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go through them,
And I will praise the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord,
Through which the righteous shall enter.
Israel uses to have 12 gates, now left 8 gates.
What happens when fear comes in? You shut the door.
Fear shuts the door.
Worship opens the door.
Jesus changed the fear of the Lord to the worship of the Lord.
Every time a offering is offered, it is at the door of the tabernacle.
Our door is our mouth.
Use our big mouth to praise Him!
Worship open the door!
You shall worship the Lord and Him alone you shall worship
When you are scare, worship the Lord!
When negative happens ard us, God don’t want us to be afraid. Worship the Lord.
1 Chronicles 16:31-36
Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
And let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.
Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the Lord,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
And say, “Save us, O God of our salvation;
Gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles,
To give thanks to Your holy name,
To triumph in Your praise.”
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel
From everlasting to everlasting! And all the people said, “Amen!” and praised the Lord.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!!
Solomon, son of David said the same.
Are there people who are fearful in the bible? Yes.
2 Chronicles 20:10-12
And now, here are the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir—whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and did not destroy them— here they are, rewarding us by coming to throw us out of Your possession which You have given us to inherit. O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”
Lets do something about the fear. Worship God and the fear left!
Worship God! Remind Him health and strength and favor and wisdom and peace are my possessions!
Our prayers can raise as an incense.
2 Chronicles 20:17
You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”
2 Chronicles 20:22
Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated
The singing is for us. The worship is for us!
Worship is to encourage us.
God wanted them to praise. Praise the Lord and remind ourselves the Lord is good!
If God is for me, who can be against me?
The worship is for him and his folks.
We need to open our mouth. The message is to open our mouth and praise the Lord.
Genesis 22:15-17
Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son— blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
I have the blessing of Abraham in my life!
Everytime you worship Jesus, you open the gate!
Hebrews 13:15
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
God is a good God
