Caleb was a young man. 85 years young man. What an amazing spirit imparted to us.
Secret of Caleb stay young and receiving and possessing his possession.
One nugget on possessing our inheritance.
Children of Israel possessed that first city in the promised land. This is significant. City of Jericho.
Joshua 6:2
And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.
The Lord said He has given. So we need to own it! We need to possess it!
Possess the Jericho.
The key to what caused Joshua and his men to possess the inheritance
This is the key
Joshua 5:2
At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time.”
The law of first mention is critical.
What is this circumcise about?
Genesis 12:1-2
Promises to Abram
(Acts 7:2–5)
Now the Lord had said to Abram:
“Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.
I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
Genesis 12:4
So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.
It is not based on how much time. What was the key? What happened before Abram possessed his possession.
Genesis 17:1-2
The Sign of the Covenant
(Ex. 12:43—13:2)
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
Genesis 17:9-11
And God said to Abraham: “As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised; and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you.
Joshua 5:2
At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time.”
Joshua 5:9
Then the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day.
Romans 4:11
And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faithwhich he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, thatrighteousness might be imputed to them also,
Circumcision is spiritual and not physical
Only upon circumcision he received the manifestation of the promise. Sarah gave birth to Issac.
The key to us possessing our inheritance is to be the righteousness of God in Christ by faith.
When you know and believe and possess we are the righteousness of God in Christ, we will possess our inheritance!
40 years the children of Israel wondered in the wilderness. They were circumcised and entered into promised land.
The act of circumcision
Circumcision happened at the part of man’s anatomy that can produce life. You deal a death blow. The man who is circumcised is weak. It is a picture of when a human flesh and strength is dead, God said I will take over. My Son will take over. He will give us life in every areas of our lives. Life beginning with eternal life!
The good news is when we are spiritually circumcised, i have no righteousness of my own. I cannot bring life to anything in my life and Jesus gives resurrection life in my everything! Into my financial, my marriage and my studies. He has made us the righteousness of God in Christ!
This is the meaning of circumcision!
This is good news!
It talks about us being righeous. Righteous by faith and not by our works.
Right behaviour is not righteousness
It is I do this and I do that.
We do until so tired, angry and start to sin. The best of us have failed.
Religious leaders have also disappointed us.
The best of us through our own effort cannot make it.
Righteousness is not right behavior. It is outward. Righteousness is the life of God in me!
My spirit is alive because of righteousness!
Righteousness is right standing before a holy God.
We cancome boldlybefore the throne of grace!
His ℓσνє comes and supplies to us His ℓσνє!
Obtain mercy and grace in time of need.
Why do you need to lie, to commit adultery and to cheat?
When we know we are the righteousness of God in Christ, He supplies to our needs and we obtain mercy and grace in tme of need.
By the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness we shall reign in life.
Listen and believe
God gives us life!
Joshua 6:12-16
And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord. Then seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord went on continually and blew with the trumpets. And the armed men went before them. But the rear guard came after the ark of the Lord, while thepriests continued blowing the trumpets. And the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. So they did six days.
But it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early, about the dawning of the day, and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. On that day only they marched around the city seven times. And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people: “Shout, for the Lord has given you the city!
The key is righteousness.
The priest (Royal priesthood and king)
Jesus is the ark!
Jesus is in our midst!
With Jesus in our midst we walk!
There is a inner wall and a outer wall
It is so thick and you are supposed to go in and possess it!
Go in and a problem that has been surrounding us for a long time, we the royal priest can surround this problem and possess it until it is our inheritance!
The priest walked and surrounded the problem! We walk around the problem! We hear the ram’s horn been blow!
What do you hear when you hear the ram’s horn?
When the horn is removed from the ram it means it died.
Ram’s horn is a picture of what Jesus has done for us at the cross. The atonement is complete!
Whatever your problem is, the bible gives us this picture that we the priest, Christ in us the hope of glory! The problem does not surround us or strangle us. We keep walking around the problem.
We surround the problem and keep hearing. Hear finished! I have completed the work for you! If i am for you, who can be against you!
Hear Himself borne my sins. I am dead to the punishment of sins and by His stripes i am healed! Surround it!
Speak to your spouse with grace.
Surround it 7 times. When you surround it, let it be a rest. Surround our problems resting in His finished work which is perfect and complete for us.
Romans 4:13
The Promise Granted Through Faith
For the promise that he would be the heirof the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
You can only inherit if you are a son
Today i can inherit!
I will possess my inheritance!
For the promise that he will be the heir of the world is through the righteousness of faith!
Just release yourself into My grace.
All the things you feel lousy about, release yourself into His grace.
Whatever you think you have done that are not good enough, just release all into His grace! Allow His grace to come in!
Instead of allowing your problems to stress, surround and strangle you, release yourself into His grace!
When your problem seems big, don’t let it surround you and strangle you.
My work is complete! You are my beloved in whom I am well pleased!
With Jesus He freely gives us all things!
My grace is sufficient for you!
His strength make perfect in my weakness.
Grace, the gift of righteousness causes us to reign in life.
Possess our inheritance.
If we can possess this first gift, the gift of righteousness, we will possess anything else
God has given. We need to take it.
Possess the rest that comes knowing how righteous we are.
No one can bring healing except the One who gives us His life. Righteousness is the life of God!
There is a difference between righteousness and entitlement
Grace is not a right. It is unmerited. It is not entitlement.
If you don’t understand that, when you pray and you don’t see the result yet, you are angry.
People who feel entitled will become bitter angry and disappointed.
Grace is undeserved.
We are like the woman who caught in the act of adultery
We are like the priest who saw the person in help but did not help him.
All of us are selfish, self-seeking, prideful
When we come before God, humble. We don’t deserve anything. Left on my own i am selfish. God loves me and we meditate. Possess it. Wake up in the morning pray in tongues take holy communion. He died for me!
Ask the Lord to change me.
Talk to our colleagues and friends different.
Humble people are people who can receive grace and impart grace.
What we have received is the spirit of grace.
This is the key to cause us to possess our inheritance.
