Sermon Note
Pastor Lian
2 Timothy 1:9
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
We see weakness around us. The financial system has weaken. Banks are hit. People are worried. Will this have effect in my company and my job?
My grace is sufficient for you!
My strength is made perfect in all those areas of weakness that just came into your mind.
His strength is the dynamite power of God
God’s dunamis is made perfect
Grace is the unmerited favour of God. Grace is a Person.
My grace is sufficient for you (as much as you need!)
Jesus Himself will supply whatever you need, as much as you need.
My strength will come in
My grace will explode in the areas of your weakness!
When you are in the time of weakness, you just believe. Believe My grace is (as much as you need) and My strength is made perfect in your weakness
Don’t be consumed by your weakness
Be confident that His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in our weakness
Psalms 73:2-3
But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled;
My steps had nearly slipped.
For I was envious of the boastful,
When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Your friend ghosted you. You feel so hurt. And this affected you and you don’t want to make friends or come back to church. This affected you from inside. Or maybe they bashed you on social media. You feel so humiliated. You allow the poison into you. Unforgiveness. You allow that one thing to poison you. You could not let go
For 30 years they carry the unforgiveness
Psalms 73:21-26
Thus my heart was grieved,
And I was vexed in my mind.
I was so foolish and ignorant;
I was like a beast before You.
Nevertheless I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand.
You will guide me with Your counsel,
And afterward receive me to glory.
Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalms 73:28
But it is good for me to draw near to God;
I have put my trust in the Lord GOD,
That I may declare all Your works.
Practise and come into Your presence
When you choose life, the death that has been in the situation will be swallowed up.
You hold me by my right hand!
So beautiful how God holds us!
Even if you experience wickedness, the Lord said, allow Me to guard your heart. Don’t let trash and poison in. He will hold us by our right hands and He guides us.
Practise His presence. We can live our days as if there is no God or we can live our days allowing God in our days.
Who have I in heaven but You?
God is the strength of my heart!
You give me strength to raise up and be a bigger person !
You take a spiritual position
Practise conscious nearness to God. Guard your heart.
We be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
When our minds are conformed to the pattern of the world, and we hear the Word and our mind still conformed to the world, even if we hear 520 sermons it has no impact on us.
Let your mind be transformed. How can you and I be transformed? We can be transformed into glorious, full of peace and grace, by the renewing of our minds.
Renewing actually means renovation
God wants to renovate our minds!
His grace is sufficient
Nothing seems to be happening but i still believe.
His grace is sufficient!
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
It is not memorising i am the righteousness of God in Christ. It is knowing I am the righteousness of God in Christ
Practise conscious nearness
Psalms 27:13
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed. That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.
Keep believing. God’s goodness in the land of the living.
Whatever you are facing today, you will experience His kindness. Even mountains and hills depart because of His kindness.
Isaiah 54:10
For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the LORD, who has mercy on you.
