Hebrews 11:21
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
Through the cross the underserving will receive.
Hebrews 11:20
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
Your sin has all been forgiven
How does joy come? When they saw the Lord

There is a difference. Under the law there is full of judgement because Saviour has not yet come.
Judgement happened because of love
Once you are justified by faith you have peace with God

Hebrews 12:14
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
Opposite of peace is bitterness
Hebrews 12:15
looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;
Bitterness springs up and is not just one person having trouble.
What is the thing that cause bitterness to spring out?
Hebrews 12:15

Hebrews 12:16
lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.
Sexual sin outside of marriage
Sex is more than just physical.
The person cannot be fulfilled deep inside
Be vertical, not horizontal. Look to God and not men.
Inheritance goes beyond life and eternity.
Long before you have sexual immorality, there is bitterness somewhere
Hebrews 12:14-15

Many of them don’t even understand when they fall short from the grace of God
Hebrews 12:18
The Glorious Company
For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest,
God has moved mountain!
Hebrews 12:24
to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.
If you touch water you touch wet.
Grace supplies what you need
It is God who works in you the willingness and performance of good pleasure
Law demands perfect obedience
Grace supplies the gift of righteousness to clothe you
At the cross God treated Jesus like you
The kingdom of God is here. Healing is here. Supply is here
Live having what you did not have when you first came.
Demand is part and parcel of parenting. Can you offset it with supply
Grace said I will give you rest. I will be your God.
Hebrews 12:18
The Glorious Company
For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest,
Things you cannot see is more real than things you can see.
Things that are seen are temporal
Hebrews 12:19
and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore.
Hebrews 12:20
(For they could not endure what was commanded: “And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow.”
The moment you touch Mount Sinai, the arrows come shooting
It is part Christ part you.
Hebrews 12:22
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,
Wherever we go, angels are there
Sonship with the Father. He wants us to call Him Father. The greatest revelation is God is our Father. We are no more in Mount Sinai.
In Old Testament there is no answer
In New Testament there is answer. Grace
After they put themselves under law, temptation came and they idolised
Galatians 5:4 KJV
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
Hebrews 12:23
to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
It is God’s righteousness that poured His wrath on Christ
The judge of all who do no wrong demands we are made the righteousness of God in Christ
None of my works. Is all Christ’s
Cain and Abel, both approached God.
The performance centred always jealous of grace centred.
Hebrews 12:25
Hear the Heavenly Voice
See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,
Don’t refuse the voice that speaks grace
It is Jesus speaking
The voice of law shook the earth. The voice of grace shook the heaven and earth
Hebrews 12:27
Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.
Hebrews 12:28
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
Hebrews 12:29
For our God is a consuming fire.
Christ is more excellence
Christ is the Son over the house.
Grace is greater than the law.
A greater has come
