Right Believing
Sermon note written in November 24th 2013 in New Creation Church (not a transcription)
Holy communion. Keep on partaking. Take it how and what you hear. A testimony of a person with stomach cancer. He kept on taking holy communion even though it became worse. But he continued partaking and praise Jesus, the latest report he received from doctor is he is cleared of cancer! Take it how and what you hear!!
Sing songs of hope!!
The gospel is about right believing! It is not about right behavior. It is about right believing that leads to right behavior!!
Right believing will lead to right living!!
Repentance is a change of mind. Not about beating yourself.
Believe God is for me!! Preach the truth and repentance is going on all the time!
Romans 1:5
Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name,
The righteous shall live by faith!!
Romans 5:19
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
One man brought sin into the world. God count death as enemy. Today we sin because we are sinners. We are sinners because of one man. By the same token, one Man’s obedience, we are made righteous!
We need the blood of Jesus!
His righteousness is for us to receive!! It will be added to us!!
Being every thoughts to His obedience!!
God has made us in His image!
Jesus cursed the fig tree. Because it has no fruits and bore fig leaves. A form of self-righteousness. Speak to the mountain! Curse self righteousness out of your life, and then u can speak to the mountain!
The strength of sin is the law.
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Exodus 19
Before the 10 commandments was given, the people said whatever You command, we can do it! This shows their self-righteousness!! God immediately changed His tones.
The period from Egypt from Sinai was pure grace. His goodness will lead them to repentance. He blessed them because of His goodness.
But when they became self-righteous and boasted to be blessed based on their own righteousness.
From then on, 10 commandments were given.
Same murmur, they dropped dead. They are now blessed based on their “goodness” and therefore they dropped dead when they murmur. But when they were under grace, they were been provided for even when they murmured.
Lukewarm is a problem. Mixture we can be deceived.
Whenever you boast in the law, you will always have “one thing you lack”
Luke 18 and 19
Luke 18 the law was given and he could hardly give a dollar.
Luke 19 grace was given and his heart was opened and salvation came!
Romans 4:5-8
David Celebrates the Same Truth
But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”
It is almost like God din see the wrong he did.
Don’t try to steady the ark.
God has blessed His people and His blessings is irreversible!!
Our security is in the Lord.
We find fault with each other because we are earth-bound.
The spirit of Son-ship has come!
The name that Jesus came to bring! Father is the Name He came to bring. Every time we say Father and Daddy God, we are protected. The name, Father, God wants to be known by.
Just the name Father. Sometimes we don’t have a prayer. Just the name Father, the name to intimacy.
The law is the shadow, Grace is the substance!
Galatians 4:1-5
Chapter 4
Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child (infant), does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Nepios-infant
We- refer to the Jewish people in this chapter.
Elements of the world is the law.
The law is the “ABC” of faith.
Placement of full-grown son. Jesus came and He brought Son-ship!
Jesus met Peter to restore him.
Luke 24:33-34
So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
Peter has been restored.
The right side is a typology of righteousness.
After Peter was restored, he saw Jesus and he jumped into the water to swim to Jesus. This time he is conscious about His love.
The revelation of love OF the Father in us and we become holy (“by accident”)
All sinners when God appear to them, will be conscious of His holiness.
We do not know as much as we should, the love of Christ.
Law does not take holy spirit.
He received bad he don’t deserve. We receive the good we don’t deserve
God will never impute sin to us because He is holy. He impute the punishment of sin on Jesus
