Romans 1:16-17
The Just Live by Faith
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
Gospel of Christ is Gospel of grace
Ephesians 2:9
not of works, lest anyone should boast.
He called the grace of Christ
Galatians 1:6
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
What Jesus did at the cross, i pray that it will transform us to glorify Jesus
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation
Healing welfare prosperity protection – Salvation
The power of God to your wholeness and preservation
Through the preaching of the gospel of Christ
We hear the gospel but we forget how we hear it
In it the righteousness of God is revealed
The gospel is a revelation of a gift of righteousness Jesus made available to all men because of what Christ did at the cross
Hebrews 10:1-2
Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All
For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins?
Once been cleansed
Once cleansed no more consciousness of sin
Where sin increased grace super abound
2 Corinthians 5:21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Made (Poiseo – to fashion)
Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
We are His workmanship
A work of art (Poiema)
We are work of art. We are proclaiming the work of God by our lives
Stop trying to battle yourself
He made Jesus to be sin for us
Leviticus 6:25
Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before the LORD: it is most holy.
Jesus died on the cross
His blood has fully met all the holy claim
Ginomai – to come into being
To birth forth
We are born again into the righteousness of God
Ephesians 4:22-23
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Romans 10:3
For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
When you receive grace you are full of thankfulness
Romans 5:20
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
The more man tried to keep it, you will see your sinful nature produce
Romans 10:3
For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Romans 5:19
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
2 Corinthians 10:5
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
We are sinners because Adam sinned.
God sent His Son to be the second Adam. When He died at the cross, His obedience made us righteous
Is His obedience that makes us righteous.
Jesus sat down because His work is one sacrifice for sin forever
Hebrews 10:12
But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,
Hebrews 10:11
And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
Give thanks to God by believing it and living like it
Keep on confessing who you are
You are born again you are born into the righteousness of God
Who you are will overcome what you do
Who you are is your standing
What you do is your state
Sometimes you feel rebellious
Sometimes you feel good
These are your states
Never judge your standing with your state
Always judge your state by your standing
Romans 5:19-20
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
The word entered – the law came besides. The law was added to the promise God made to Abraham
Grace is God doing
Law is man doing
Sin abounded (Pleonazo – increased)
Grace much more abound (huperperisseuo)
Perisseuo is more than increase, it is like the stars in heaven
It is like the dust in the ground, no one can count it
Huper – hyper
On top of overflowing
Where sin increased, God’s grace much more abound
2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Sin – falling short
The very area i am falling short, God’s grace superabound!
Romans 5:20
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
David has 10 sons. God chose the one from Bathsheba, Solomon to become king. Where sin abounds, God’s grace super abounds
Peter, he denied the Lord 3 times. God used the same mouth that denied Him to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ on the day of Pentecost. 3000 people were saved!
Where sin abounds, God’s grace super abounds
The law kills, the spirit gives life
You are feeling depressed over your weakness.
You have the weakness, you have something no one has. This weakness, God’s grace superabound in it
Romans 6:1-2
Dead to Sin, Alive to God
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
Died to sin -> happened in the past and cannot be repeated
How can we who died to sin live any longer in it
Romans 3:8
And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their condemnation is just.
1 Corinthians 1:7
so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Galatians 1:8-9
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
The same gospel that Paul preached
God is not satisfied with just a mere restoration
Leviticus 5:15-16 NASB
15 “If a person acts unfaithfully and sins unintentionally against the Lord’s holy things, then he shall bring his guilt offering to the Lord: a ram without defect from the flock, according to your assessment in silver by shekels, in terms of the shekel of the sanctuary, as a guilt offering. 16 And he shall make restitution for that which he has sinned against the holy thing, and shall add to it a fifth part of it and give it to the priest. The priest shall then make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering, and it will be forgiven him.
Jesus made Himself accountable for all we have lost. He is the One who will restore. Not just full price, but 120%!
Psalms 69:4
They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head:
they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty:
then I restored that which I took not away.
I restored that which i took not away
The Lord became the guilt offering. He restored what He did not steal or rob!
Jesus restored to God
God has became a gainer to what Jesus has done
God wants greater blessings for man
God is the “injured” party. The One who was robbed by us.
We have robbed man of the obedience, the respect
We are regretting those moments
Jesus has done something even for them
We are gaining. We have more souls saved during this time than ever
Luke 15:22-23
But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
The son who came home from sin. He came back broken empty and yet receive
Romans 5:17
For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Death is total
Yet Jesus has conquered death
