A boy A stone and a sling -> these are the smallest things that defeated the giant!
David cut off the giant’s head
It is God’s way! If you are the least, you qualify!
We have this treasure in earthen vessel.
God does not use sicknesses.
The sword of the Lord is the most powerful sword! A sword u don’t see it!
Jesus is the bread of life!
5 loaves and 2 fish. There is nothing in it. Everything is in the Lord.
He uses the weak things!
God used the boy and the 5 loaves and 2 fish. Nothing to do with the boy and the 5 loaves and 2 fish. Everything to do with Jesus!
Bring Jesus into the picture. Defeat strifes with Jesus! Bring Jesus into the picture.
God uses the things that are null as though they are.
God heal us before we know it!
People like dramatics.
Take holy communion, people think nothing much.
Take xray, people think wow
They can see they are doing something great.
God uses something simple
2 Kings 5:9-14
Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha’s house. And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.”
But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’
Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?”
Pharpar -> The way of the world is quick fruitfulness. It is not genuine fruitfulness.
If you need medicine, use it, but don’t be addicted to it. Don’t throw away your medicine.
If you are addicted to medicine, trust God, this is not God’s way to be addicted to medicine.
So he turned and went away in a rage.
And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
2 Kings 5:10
And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.”
Elisha did not even meet him, he sent a messenger.
Many a time we don’t like the instruction. Pride.
Naaman was looking to do something “great”!
His servant spoke to Naaman and he went down and dipped 7 times according to what was told by the messenger. He was cleaned!
He could have missed it.
Follow God’s instruction. Many a time it is humbling.
The moment u put a price tag into God’s gift, u cheapen it.
Naaman decided to worship the God of Israel.
God used a woman to defeat the enemy. It was commissioned to Deborah (meaning the Word of God or bumble bee)
U don’t trust God completely u don’t get complete victory.
Judah was limited in his victory. He did not trust God completely and dragged his brother along for comfort.
What did God say to Simeon?
Don’t cut his hair.
Cannot touch anything of the grapes
He had long hair and no one has long hair in that culture.
Most people who has addiction to sexual, has rejection from their father when young
Wine and grapes are picture of joy in the bible. Yet Simeon had to watch from faraway.
Don’t neglect your children and let your domestic helpers be the one leading them.
Being a male is a matter of birth, being a man is a matter of choice.
You are in the house of God. Old things have passed away, you are a new creation in Christ!
Simeon’s long hair made him look like woman. His long hair make him conscious he was weak in himself and he was strong in the Lord.
It is not just looking at your minuses, it is looking at your minuses and look at the Lord!
I cannot do it but He can!
Be aware of your minuses but be conscious of being in the Lord!
Lord, You are my righteousness, You are my holiness.
Cut off from the Vine we can do nothing!
Simeon as long as he was conscious of his weakness, strength of the Lord was in him.
Our conscious weakness allow the Lord to manifest in us!
It is hard to push someone who is down.
Many a time we think we got no pride for a long time, but it can be the simplest thing that allow us to see our pride.
We have a sense of entitlement. We get angry so fast because of our pride.
Isaiah 64:1-4
Chapter 64
Oh, that You would rend the heavens!
That You would come down!
That the mountains might shake at Your presence—
As fire burns brushwood,
As fire causes water to boil—
To make Your name known to Your adversaries,
That the nations may tremble at Your presence!
When You did awesome things for which we did not look,
You came down,
The mountains shook at Your presence.
For since the beginning of the world
Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear,
Nor has the eye seen any God besides You,
Who acts for the one who waits for Him.
It is the age of grace. Before we are prideful, God has others beside us.
There was earthquake, but God was not in it. There was fire, but God was not in the fire.
All these outward show does not humble a man’s heart.
A still small voice, grace, is what broke the stone heart.
Jesus came to the lowliest city and died for us.
Grace is what changes heart.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
God has prepared good things for those who love Him!
In New Testament, u cannot find “waiting”
He has given us all things! We spend time in the Lord and walk in it!
Christ, crucified, the power of God!
There, the greatest enemy of man was crushed! There, the innocent (innocent means no knowledge). He was not innocent, he is holy! The just died for the unjust!
At the cross all is gained! Even 120% much more that all that Adam lost!
Don’t be discouraged with your weakness.
The favour is on the small, the little, the insignificant.
Don’t despise holy communion.
When it is weak, small, has eyes to see that.
We learn how to be humble. Go it God’s way!
The world says don’t go to church, you need more rest. But by the foolishness of preaching, to sozo and we live long!
Studies has shown, those who go to church live long.
Simple does not means cheap. It is priceless!
