Holy Communion (in remembrance of Jesus)
Sermon note (4th svc in New Creation Church. Note taken, is not a direct transcription)
Common sense still reign in Singapore, and many parts of other countries. We know in our hearts what is right and what is not. Don’t let others force us.
Not to get drunk as it destroys your bodies. God loves you and want you to live long.
God is a God of hope and a way out. For this reason many are weak and fall asleep. When they take the communion element they don’t distinguish between the bread and the cup. Most important is the meaning behind this. In most places when they take holy communion, they don’t distinguish. We don’t take it to be forgiven. We are forgiven. It must be thanksgiving. We don’t approach the table in sin-consciousness. This cup is a symbol our sins are remitted.
His body was broken so that our bodies can be put together. Most criminals will either go thru the beating or go to the cross. However Jesus went through both. The Roman governor knew that Jesus was innocent. He wanted to show how badly he was beaten. His bones stared at Him. We are a gentile, the church of God, we were all involved. Both Jews and Gentiles are responsible of this. The Roman governor thought they will let Him go seeing how badly He was beaten, however they still wanted to crucified Him. This was all planned for by God.
Holy Communion –
Do this in remembrance of Me. Is a love covenant meal. By Your stripe, my (diseases, name them if any) are healed. It is a thanksgiving. When Jesus ministered the elements it was with thanksgiving.
The idea of completeness – Shalom.
Jesus is the King of Shalom. He impart peace and wholeness. Jesus did all kind of miracles, healing, cleansing.
God is the Most High. God wants us to know God possess heaven and earth. Only one true Conqueror will come back. He will come and return.
Genesis 14:18-19
Abram and Melchizedek
Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said:
“Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;
Learn to look up to heaven. When our career is blessed, start looking up, and not looking around or within. Know the Most High rules the kingdom of men. Every souls should be subject to the highest One. It fit in God’s plan.
The most High rules the kingdom of men!! The God of the Most High! The Most High God rules!!
Without God, Abraham has nothing to eat. We also! Don’t take our lives for granted. Our position and who we are, are given by God.
Abraham knew he was going to be rich and is blessed by God. He knew God is the Source of his blessing.
Read Daniel 4 (Nebuchadnezzar finally acknowledge God as Most High God who rules the kingdom of men)
When you try to make a stand, you give people your glory and your weight. Sometimes your opponent wants you to focus on that. It is wiser to follow God’s wisdom. Jesus did not give public declaration.
Tithing is a revelation.
When we look for leaders, we look for faithfulness. Faithfulness is in leaders. If one is not faithful with 10%, how can we trust them with souls.
Don’t conclude the power and the might of your strength gives you wealth. God gives us the power to create wealth.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Institution of the Lord’s Supper
For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
Paul was raised to preach the mystery of church which was hidden.
Church is not a building. Church is the most powerful organisation in the entire universe. People who are close and right with God.
Feeding is believing on Christ. Chewing is back to the Table, in remembrance of Christ.
Everything must be interpreted in context.
When Jesus said body and blood, it was His body and blood when He said in person.
1 Corinthians 10:16-18
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.
Observe Israel after the flesh: Are not those who eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
One bread – Jesus’ body. We are one bread cos we partake of His body.
Breast speaks of love. We see the Son of God who loves me and He gave Himself for me.
Right thigh is the strongest part of the body. Speaks of strength. God’s love and God’s power.
When you partake of the Lord’s supper you are in fellowship. When you drink the cup, you partake. You are a sharer.
1 Corinthians 11:20
Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper.
Preach Christ’s centred sermon. Broke bread every Sunday.
Supper is done in the evening when darkness approached. When your life seems to be getting dark, what do you do? Get the element ready. It is called the Lord’s Supper. Evening – it will get darker and darker before you see the light. You have to persevere.
Meditate on this –
Psalms 91:7
A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Testimony from a Germany lady –
Her mum was diagnosed with cancer and it was aggressive that she had to go for treatment. Her daughter prayed with her mum and focus on Jesus. The retest came back and she is cancer free! The doctor was shocked and she don’t need to come back for any treatment! Praise Jesus!
It is not about you, but the way we partake the communion. This cup is the new covenant in My Blood. Shed for you. You benefit. This is peace offering.
1 Corinthians 11:26
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
Every time we partake of the Lord’s supper we proclaim (openly declare) the Lord’s death till He comes.
Jesus came in the flesh. He shed His blood. Fully Man and fully God. Not to partake to be forgiven but to partake to declare we are forgiven. We are announcing to the power of darkness without words.

Looking at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ
When people know He is coming back, it affects our lives! Everyone with this hope purify himself.
It is dangerous when the hope is removed from church. This is bible hope! Future coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Not look forward to death. Look forward to the coming of Christ!
How we proclaim the Lord’s death? By having communion!
There is no haunted house but demon possessed house. Our house is blessed, angels is in our house.
Have communion and proclaim the Lord’s death.
1 Samuel 7:8-11
So the children of Israel said to Samuel, “Do not cease to cry out to the Lord our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the Philistines.”
And Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. Then Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him. Now as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the Lord thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused them that they were overcome before Israel. And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and drove them back as far as below Beth Car.
Suckling lamb – baby lamb. The Lord conquered in the smallest, the weakest link. He was seen as a baby Lamb.
God use the weak things to confound the mighty.
Jaw bone of a completely dry donkey bone was taken and conquered many.
Don’t despise the least.
Jesus is the piece of bread. Share Jesus. Share what Jesus has done for you. God uses the simple weak thing to confound the mighty.
The weak the last the small. Faith as grain of the mustard seed.
The last shall be the first!
God always have a rhythm of grace.
The only time He speed is salvation.
Salvation don’t say tomorrow.
As long as you have Christ, the devil can’t call your number
A small lamb that change everything. Burnt offering is different from sin offering.
Burnt offering the innocent of the lamb is transferred to us. Jesus died for God’s glory.
He magnified God’s law and fulfilled it!
It was all fully met when He shed His blood.
Sin offering is involuntarily. Burnt offering you can give as much as you want. Sin offering, animal dung is mentioned. It is our dung. Even accomplishment are counted as dung. At the cross, sin offering was reminded of sin. Jesus paid for our sin at the cross!
In sin offering no sweet smelling. In burnt offering there was sweet smelling. It reminded God of Jesus.
We are all unto God the sweet smelling of Christ to God.
I am the righteousness of God in Christ! This brought deliverance to many!
Frankincense
When the fire of God hit Jesus, 2 things happen. 1. He was the Only One who can take the fiery judgement of God.
2. Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit. (Pronouncing out your breath) He dismissed His spirit. This time the sacrifice is greater than the judgement.
No one like our Lord.
God loves to be reminded of His Son
Is a thanksgiving. Conscious that our sins are remitted.
Altar is made of bronze. Solid material that can withstand fire. He consumed God’s judgement. Judgement was greater than the sacrifice.
Jesus was crucified at 9am and died at 3pm. God loves to be reminded of His Son
The Father loves to hear about His Son. Honor His Son and He will honor us.
Preach Jesus!
Burnt offering is a reminder. Sacrifices of praise. God is well-pleased. Our sacrifices of praise, doing good.
It is thanksgiving.
One of the greatest things we can do is communion. Do it in remembrance of Jesus.
The Father loves it when we remember Jesus. The holy spirit helps us to remember and look at Jesus. Communion we should address the Son and thank Him.
He gave us the forget-me-not Feast!
For God to clothe Adam and Eve the animal skin, God killed the animals. There was blood. God was the first One to offer the sacrifice.
First mention of the burnt offering.
Genesis 8:20-21
God’s Covenant with Creation
Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
Sweet smelling aroma always reminded of Noah, which is rest. He said in His heart, not out loud. (How cool to have insight of His heart)
God will never again flood the entire earth.
Jesus will come back as Judge. Not for us. He will come back with us as Judge. He will rapture us before that.
When we have the Lord’s Supper we are having the time of sweet smelling incense.
We preach the cross cos there is sin. Sin is sin. Wrong is wrong, right is right. Thank God for the cross!
Read Numbers 16.
Anything not of the cross is strange fire.
When God smell even the little thought we can feed on Jesus, death stops and life reign!
Incense – reminder of Jesus.
We can pray to glorify ourselves, the wrong gain.
Why you want to be rich? To have money you don’t have, and to impress people they don’t care.
Every thoughts emit Jesus, the sweet smelling.
It is about Jesus! Think of Jesus and partake worthily.
Stop dead in its track. The disease die.
Under grace, after Jesus came, the disease died. When the law came, 3000 died. When Jesus came, 3000 lives!
God rather be glorified by the forgiveness of sin.
What greater glory! What greater wisdom!!
