Sermon Note
Pastor Lawrence
God loves you and His heart is to bless you. The devil is behind everything that has been stolen in our lives.
Jesus contrasted Himself with the devil. Jesus is a good God.
He said I am the resurrection and life.
John 11:25
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
Mark 2:1-3
Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralytic
(Matt. 9:2–8; Luke 5:17–26)
And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them. Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.
Mark 2:4-10
And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic,
Mark 2:11-12
“I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
Only God has the power and right to forgive the sin of man. He is also declaring He is God. He alone can forgive sin.
Jesus is a God who forgives sin.
Jesus is a God who has the power to heal and Hs is willing to heal.
It is difficult to go through lives with the sin we have committed in the past. Jesus Christ our Saviour is here to save us.
God has forgiven you.
All your sins are forgiven.
Ephesians 1:7
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
In Him we have the redemption through His blood. We have it according to the riches of His grace. Not according to our understanding
Psalms 103:11
For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
Before you are able to walk, you must know you are seated with Christ in the heavenly places.
1 Peter 2:24
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
When you know Jesus has borne your sin, in Him is no sin, He went to the cross and borne our sin, that we been dead to sin should live unto righteousness
We are made the righteousness of God in Christ.
By His stripe, we are healed.
Receive healing by declaring.
Romans 4:5
David Celebrates the Same Truth
But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,
Romans 4:5-8
David Celebrates the Same Truth
But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin.”
Non imputation of sin, means when we stand before the judge it is as if we have not committed the sin.
When God says He does not impute sin, it is a fact to Him. It is a reality to Him.
You are forgiven. All your sins wiped out by the blood. All your sins have been judged at the cross.
Psalms 32:2
Blessed (esher – happy) is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
Isaiah 54:14
In righteousness you shall be established;
You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear;
And from terror, for it shall not come near you.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
You have the Lion of Judah living in you
Do not be afraid.
Mark 5:4-6
because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones.
When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him.
Mark 5:7-15
And he cried out with a loud voice and said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me.”
For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!” Then He asked him, “What is your name?”
And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.
Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains. So all the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.” And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.
So those who fed the swine fled, and they told it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that had happened. Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.
Jesus gave up His Godhood, became a Man so that He could save the sheep that were lost.
The Lord loves this one man who was demon possessed. He touched and saved this one man.
He is the good Shepherd who went after this one sheep that was lost.
God will never give up on you.
You may think you have left Him, but He has never left you. He will pursue you. He will restore you.
He will go after this one sheep and He is going after you.
He will save you and restore you.
His mercy and grace will overwrite every wrong choices in your life.
He loves you with everlasting love.
No matter what you are going through, look at this man. No one could help him. But when Jesus came and touched him, Jesus delivered him and the years of torment gone.
I am speaking to people who are facing mental health issue. The Lord can deliver you and heal you.
