Colossians 2:5
For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
Take time to hear God’s Word is the most important time.
Sit at Jesus’ feet to hear His Word.
Behold His glory and hear His Word is the greatest thing we do
We set the spirit for the coming week.
Jesus expound things concerning Himself when He walked at Emmaus road. (On a Sunday) At the end of the journey, He broke breads.
It was more important for us to see His Word than to see Him in the flesh.
We set aside time. We give the day set apart unto Him and this set the tones for the entire week.
God will always take care for His people and provide for His people even in times of famine.
Abraham was very rich in gold and silver and much cattle
Egypt became the bread basket of the world.
The day of financial famine
Acts 11:28-30
Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar. Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea. This they also did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
Outbreak of locusts in Africa and went to Pakistan but for some reasons bypass Israel.
God always prepare His people
The spirit of God can tell you what is going to happen.
God’s people has more than enough to give to the poor brethren.
Agabus means locust
We are in this world but not of the world.
My God shall supply all my needs ACCORDING to His riches.
God shake the false trust in our lives so that our trusts can be in Him who is unshakeable
Which of you by worrying can add to His statues
God clothes the lilies of the field.
This is about health. Life is more than food. The body is more important than clothing.
Our life health is more than food.
Money you can earn again. Health you cannot.
God wants to provide in every areas of our lives.
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness
On the cross Jesus borne our sin. So that we who know no righteousness can receive His righteousness
Seek His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.
Lay good foundation for the day of lack
1 Timothy 6:18-19
Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
When you are willing to give and share you are sowing seeds for your future harvest.
God said as long as the earn remains, seed time and harvest will not cease.
Whatever you sow you will reap.
We are today the temple of God.
We are seated in Christ in the Father’s right hand
First chamber
Upper room Jesus celebrated Passover
Third floor is bright and glorious. The floor was overlaid with gold
2 Chronicles 3:9
And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.
When you give it will be given unto us.
God wants you to look at the result. There will be a harvest.
He who sows sparingly shall reap sparingly.
Context is giving financials to the poor
Jesus came under the curse so that we can be abundantly supplied. We through His poverty can be abundantly supplied for!
He paid a debt He did not owe.
He was cursed that we might be blessed.
All these came because of what He did at the cross.
He was rich but for our sake He became poor that we through His poverty might be rich.
They tried to rebuild the temple as much as they can.
The older generation wept. The temple was not as glorious as temple of Solomon
The glory of the latter house will be greater than the former. Jesus walked in the latter house and did not walk in the former.
Enemies of Israel came.
Nehemiah 2:10
When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard of it, they were deeply disturbed that a man had come to seek the well-being of the children of Israel.
Tobiah his name means God is good
Tov is good. He is the enemy of Israel but he had his name meaning God is good.
Nehemiah 4:3-4
Now Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, “Whatever they build, if even a fox goes up on it, he will break down their stone wall.”
Hear, O our God, for we are despised; turn their reproach on their own heads, and give them as plunder to a land of captivity!
Even a fox can destroy a wall.
God open up 3 chambers this year.
Every time you go up higher, the chamber is increased in space.
We are now at somewhere in between. A place of rest.
Prepared for Tobiah a large chamber
The tithes of grain wine and oil
These tithes is to maintain the house of God
Lift up your hands. We minister to the Lord in worship and praise. The Father loved to be reminded of His Son.
Burnt Offerings is to glorify God
The Father loves Him always.
Weaving before the Lord with what they have in the hands. This is weave offering
Numbers 18
Breast is the picture of the ℓσνє of Jesus
The tithe is the picture of Christ our First fruit
Christ is also our worship to the Father
Hebrews 13:15-16
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
When you praise God, God is well pleased.
We give because we ℓσνє God and wants to show our appreciation
First 3 offerings remind God of His Son.
Nehemiah 13:4-12 (ESV)
Now before this, Eliashib the priest, who was appointed over the chambers of the house of our God, and who was related to Tobiah, prepared for Tobiah a large chamber where they had previously put the grain offering, the frankincense, the vessels, and the tithes of grain, wine, and oil, which were given by commandment to the Levites, singers, and gatekeepers, and the contributions for the priests. While this was taking place, I was not in Jerusalem, for in the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon I went to the king. And after some time I asked leave of the king and came to Jerusalem, and I then discovered the evil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, preparing for him a chamber in the courts of the house of God. And I was very angry, and I threw all the household furniture of Tobiah out of the chamber. Then I gave orders, and they cleansed the chambers, and I brought back there the vessels of the house of God, with the grain offering and the frankincense.
I also found out that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them, so that the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled each to his field. So I confronted the officials and said, “Why is the house of God forsaken?” And I gathered them together and set them in their stations. Then all Judah brought the tithe of the grain, wine, and oil into the storehouses.
We are living a day we are about to be ushered into the large chamber.
To praise God is sacrifice that is sweet smelling
Our praise today is sweet smelling fragrance because it reminds God of Jesus
Don’t give grace a bad name.
Grace is a heavenly standard
We don’t arrive the standard by our effort.
There is worship, praising and giving
Tithing was way before the law
Hebrews 7:1
The Priestly Order of Melchizedek
For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
We respond with the tithe. You don’t have to tithe. You get to tithe.
God loves it. It is a way of pleasing God
It is a way of declaration that Jesus is our source. He gives us the power to get wealth.
The rich is in the tithe. It is a revelation.
If God can trust you with money He can trust you with riches
The tithe today is not the debt you owe. Is a seed you sow
Don’t forsake the house of God
Hebrews 7:8-10
Here mortal men receive (present passive participle) tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives. Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.
When Melchizedek met, Abraham he did not have Issac yet.
Because father Abraham tithed, it was blessed in him
When you tithe the blessings go to you, your grandchildren
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these will be added unto you
God is opening the 3rd storey to you and your family.
Don’t focus your eyes on the news.
Lay a good foundation
