Sermon Note
Pastor Lawrence
House of God. House of prayer.
The key to see miracle is prayer.
Prayer is the greater work.
As we pray, as we continue to look to the Lord. The blind shall see. The deaf shall hear. The dead shall be raised.
Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you.
Matthew 7:11
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
Psalms 8:2
Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies,
That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.
Something happen when you praise the Lord.
When you praise the Lord you will silent the enemy and the avengers.
Open your mouth and praise the Lord!
2 Chronicles 20:15-23
And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.”
And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the LORD, worshiping the LORD. Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with voices loud and high.
So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:
“Praise the LORD,
For His mercy endures forever.”
Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.
Praise the Lord
For His mercy endures forever
All he did was to send his priest forward and all they did was to sing praises to God
Psalms 118:1-4
Praise to God for His Everlasting Mercy
Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
Let Israel now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
Let the house of Aaron now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
Let those who fear the LORD now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
1 Chronicles 16:1-2
The Ark Placed in the Tabernacle
(2 Sam. 6:17–19)
So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.
1 Chronicles 16:7
David’s Song of Thanksgiving
(Ps. 96:1–13; 105:1–15; 106:1, 47, 48)
On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the LORD:
1 Chronicles 16:34
Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
Acts 15:15-17
And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:
‘After this I will return
And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down;
I will rebuild its ruins,
And I will set it up;
So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD,
Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name,
Says the LORD who does all these things.’
The Lord will rebuild the tabernacle of David.
What David ordained to praise the Lord can also be used in the New Testament church to praise the Lord
Give thanks to Him for He is good.
It is good to praise the Lord.
Why do we praise the Lord?
Why do we give thanks?
The reason why we give thanks is because God is a good God!
Our God is a good God. God is good and there is no bad in Him.
Jesus said I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.
We can experience His goodness.
Our heads fails to understand, our hearts can experience.
When you have a need in your life, God provides for you.
When the people was hungry, Jesus feed them
Praise God for He is good. He is good, He will turn your circumstances around for He is good
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Believe your heavenly Father loves you.
Our God is a good God.
Psalms 118:1
Praise to God for His Everlasting Mercy
Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
Mercy – Hesed
Grace – charis, hesed
We give thanks to the Lord for His grace endures forever.
The gospel of grace. The gospel of peace. The gospel of Christ
It is the grace of God who saved us
John 1:14-18
The Word Becomes Flesh
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ”
And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
Jesus is grace Personified
For His grace endures forever
Ephesians 2:4-10
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Receive the grace of God. The grace of God knows no end.
Psalms 118:1
Praise to God for His Everlasting Mercy
Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
This same grace that has saved you will cause your life to be radically transformed.
We are waiting anticipating how this gospel of Jesus Christ will go far and wide.
Multitude of souls shall be saved. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
