Sermon Note
Pastor Prince
You are complete in Christ. Walk out the position of rest.
2 Timothy 2:22
Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
You are righteous in God’s eyes
It is important we know we are loved by God. Divine intimacy
Peter was sincere but he did not know his flesh. He trusted his love for Jesus.
John knew and he trusted Jesus love for him.
We loved before he first loved us
We are always ignorance of God’s love for us.
God loved us with all His heart all His soul and all His might and He died for us on the cross.
Peter was the one who trusted his love for the Lord but he sensed the distance. He had to signal to John to ask him to ask Jesus who is the one who will betray Him
John leaned on Jesus bosom. He leaned on His love and hear His guidance.
Jesus told John who is going to be the one who betrayed Him.
John 21:20
The Beloved Disciple and His Book
Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?”
Jesus did not need to tell John to follow Him. He needed to ask Peter to follow Him.
Titus 2:11-12
Trained by Saving Grace
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
We talk about the holiness. It is not the talk. It is the effect.
You are the righteousness of God in Christ. When you agree you are the righteousness of God in Christ, the spirit inside u is the spirit of truth and will bear witness with the truth.
Romans 6:17
But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.
God called Abraham father of many.
Until we see sin is an addiction, we will never rely on God’s way of deliverance
1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
Declare i am the righteousness of God in Christ.
Hebrews 2:4
God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
Exodus 19:8
Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the LORD has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the LORD.
Every murmuring brought fresh divine intervention.
God instead of judging them, He turned bitter water sweet.
None of them deserve it. Grace is all about God’s faithfulness and truth and counsel
Man is transformed by beholding the glory of the Lord.
All the while God, despite of their sin, it was under covenant of grace and not law.
It is the goodness of God that leads them tk repentance
Exodus 19:12
You shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, ‘Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch its base. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death.
God went ahead of them and prepared for them and protected them.
None of them died. For sure they are not perfect.
At the foot of Mount Sinai, men boast of their obedience and strength. The very first commandment, they broke and worshipped golden calf.
Where sin abounds grace superabound
Romans 5:20
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
God wants to have all the glory. Worthy is the Lamb alone! God has all the glory and He does all the work. He is happy to do that.
Philippians 2:13
for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
Work out your salvation. You cannot work out something that is not inside.
Philippians 2:12-13
Light Bearers
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
Bible way is forgive even God for Christ’s sake has forgiven us.
Those who know they are loved best love best.
Luke 7:47
Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”
God tells us not to forget ALL His benefits
Psalms 103:3
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Acts 5:16
Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
Acts 4:33
And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.
Forgive even God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you

Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler
(Matt. 19:16–22; Mark 10:17–22)
Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
He trusted in his riches than God’s grace.
James 2:10
For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
Coveting is sin.
You break one you are guilty of all.
Luke 18:19
So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.
The law exposes us. By the law is the knowledge of sin
Holiness is the fruit of the spirit
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Love Joy Peace
Self control is the fruit not self effort
Flesh – works of the flesh
When you are under grace, holiness becomes attractive
Grace is all about God working and God moving on our behalf.
Grace – supply
Law – demand
Philippians 2:13
for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
It is God who works in you
I must have the willingness inside. It is God who gives us the willingness and to do of His good pleasure
The performance of His good pleasure is given by Him
Fruit of the Spirit
Result of life
Works of the flesh
Result of efforts
Law and grace
Galatians 3:1
O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?
This is witch craft in the church
Grace is celebrate who we are in Christ
We pray because we are near to God
We don’t pray for victory. We pray from victory
Holiness is the by product of the energising of the holy spirit in us
When you under grace, the result is fruits of the spirit
We learn a lot from the first mention
Blood was first mentioned when Cain killed his brother Abel.
Genesis 4:10
And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.
His blood cries out mercy!
His blood cries our redemption! Jesus’ blood speaks of better things than the blood of Abel!
Genesis 2:3
Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
Sanctified; saints, holiness
Hagiasmos
Set apart because is precious
Holy is not something out of ordinary
Opposite of holiness is common
Hebrews 4:10-11
For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
The Word Discovers Our Condition
Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
Trying is the law. Grace is trust
Rest. The more we rest we enter into His rest
Let us labour therefore to enter into His rest
Work at not working
John 6:29
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
