Sermon Note (4th svc)
Pastor Lawrence
Your heavenly Father, He loves to give to you and take care of your every needs. No matter what your challenge is, look to Him. Whatever breakthrough you need in your life, look to Him and Him alone!
Is a keeping power of God when you serve Him.
Everyone can serve God in one way or another.
We serve God because we make a decision as a priority in our life. It is a decision we make.
When we serve Him, He keeps us young!
We shall still be young and flourishing. Give your best to Him. You will have beautiful life.
2019 the year of the Latter Rain. A year of the manifestation.
The latter rain was given the purpose for harvesting of the crops.
This year you will harvest the blessings the Lord recorded for you in His Word.
God’s heart is to bless you.
Zechariah 10:1
Restoration of Judah and Israel
Ask the Lord for rain
In the time of the latter rain.
The Lord will make flashing clouds;
He will give them showers of rain,
Grass in the field for everyone.
He wants us to ask because it is a ℓσνє relationship with Him. As Lover and Father and child, He wants us to communicate with Him and have ℓσνє relationship with Him.
He wants us to ask of Him.
Matthew 7:7-11
Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
(Luke 11:9–13)
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
The condition of receiving from God is whether you have asked of God.
Have you been asking? Are you still asking? Have you given up on asking? Keep on asking.
We have not because we asked not.
When we stop asking we stop receiving.
Ask Him for strength, health, protection. We need to be protected from all kinds of things in this world.
Don’t take it for granted. Ask!
He is happy to give to you. When we receive, it makes Him glad.
Keep on asking.
What if i have asked but i have yet to receive, what should i do?
Healing is God’s heart and will for everyone to be healed!
Jesus went to the cross and He paid the ultimate price for our healing.
Mark 4:3-9
“Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it. Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Seed that fell on stoney ground
When sun comes, it withered and died
He who has ears to hear, let Him hear.
Luke 8:11-12
The Parable of the Sower Explained
(Matt. 13:18–23; Mark 4:13–20)
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
The devil knows the power of God’s word.
He knows how powerful God’s word is. That is why he comes and take away the word out of their hearts.
Know the priority of God’s word. Every breakthrough is by revelation of God’s word.
Every blessing in your life is preceded by the revelation of God’s word.
God will disperse His word through the five fold ministry.
Coming to church is a priority.
Mark 4:13-20
The Parable of the Sower Explained
(Matt. 13:18–23; Luke 8:11–15)
And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? The sower sows the word. And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
Tribulation and persecution arise because of the Word.
We have an enemy out there. When you see God’s Word, he wants to frustrate and confuse you so that he can shake your faith that you no longer believe.
Devil wanna do everything to shake you so that you don’t believe.
Keep on believing.
Keep on pressing in and don’t give up.
When u r filled with cares, u don’t think about God’s word anymore.
Money will not solve all your problems but God will solve all your problems.
God is the One you should trust in, not money.
Desire for other things.
We have passion for new hobbies and interest and it may take away God’s word. We need to prioritise God’s Word.
There must be certain kind of discipline and we make time for it.
Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word of God
We need the Word of God. Don’t let desire for other things take away word of God.
The seed sown on good ground.
When God chose Abraham, he was highly favoured. It was completely based on unmerited favour of God.
When Abraham was 75, God gave the promise to him to make him a great nation.
God promised Abraham to give them descendants like the dust of the earth, however they were not able to conceive. Why?
Tribulations arise on account of the Word.
The devil is opposing the promised of God because something great is going to happen.
At 86, Sarai asked Abraham to go to Haggai.
From 75, Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years for their child.
Hebrews 6:12-15
that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
God’s Infallible Purpose in Christ
For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
You need faith and patience. There is a place where you endure. Keep on believing even when you don’t see it.
James 5:7
Be Patient and Persevering
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
Waiting patiently
There is a place we need to wait patiently to see the promises of God to come in our lives.
You sow a seed one day, do u expect it to grow into big tree tomorrow?
When you plant a seed, it takes time. How long it takes, it depend on the fruit. It does not happen immediately. It takes time.
When you plant a seed, you need to take care of the seed. You need to water the seed.
Until you receive the early and latter rain.
You need to water the seed.
What is rain a symbol of?
Isaiah 55:10-11
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
The word is the seed. The word is also the rain.
Keep on listening to God’s Word.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of Christ.
Faith is not come by having heard.
There is something happen when you keep on hearing. There is an emphasis on hearing the word of Christ.
Prioritise God’s Word.
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation
Hearing by believing.
Hearing God’s Word.
Every breakthrough is preceded by a season of listening actively to God’s Word.
Mark 4:23-25
If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
We all want more from God. But how?
To you who hear!
To you who hear, more will be given! Therein lies the secret of God’s Word.
Hearing the gospel preached by a person.
When you hear, something good happen to you.
Are you hearing?
Anointed preaching of the gospel of grace.
Every season of listening will reap the harvest.
There is harvest today because of the seed you have sown!
God’s Word has a preserving power. It is alive. Sharper than 2 edges sword.
Nothing else in this world can do that, but the word of God
James 5:11
Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
The Lord has good ending intended for him.
What happened to Job was because of satan. He lived before the cross. What happened to Job will not happen to us.
Job was a man lived before the time of Moses.
Job 42:10
And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
The end that the Lord intends for us is a good one! He has a great ending for us. It may not seems easy now. But be patient and keep looking to the Lord. The Lord will bless you more than you have lost.
Job 42:12-17
Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. He also had seven sons and three daughters.
And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch.
In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. So Job died, old and full of days.
Jeninimah – “day by day” or dove
Keren-Happuch = horn of paint
Day by day when you meditate on the Word of God, the finished work of Christ, you become strong and beautiful
The Lord is very compassionate and merciful
Philippians 3:8-9
Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
Dung is a symbol of self righteousness
Philippians 3:8-9
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
What if you are depressed, totally discouraged? No strength at all
There was a bed-ridden person. His 4 friends brought him to Jesus through the roof of the house. When Jesus saw his friends’ faith, Jesus healed him.
Thank God for kingdom friendship
There will be times where you do not have faith to carry on, our friends are there. We need kingdom friendship.
The Lord hears the prayers of the saints. When there is corporate prayers, the Lord hears.
When you are tired and no strength, our friends come in, stand by us, pray with us. We need one another. That is what the body of Christ is about.
Because of our Lord Jesus Christ, He is so good
God is good. God is good God. Sometimes when we can no longer believe, our friends can carry you through.
We need to have friends around us, tell them ti pray for you.
What is a good ground?
Psalms 129:3
The plowers plowed upon my back:
they made long their furrows.
In order to have good ground, you need to plow the land. The Lord Jesus gave Himself to be plowed. Every blessings can only come to pass because of what Jesus Christ has done!
His back was plowed so today there is a good ground in our hearts to bring the blessings
The Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
The Lord will always be to you
This year will be your best year.
